They only went and did it!

Firefighter Kristopher Elliot and his brother Blair have crossed the finishing line after setting sail from La gomera in the Canary Islands 55 days ago on the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge - a 3,000-mile endurance race across the Atlantic Ocean.

The brothers took on the gruelling challenge of rowing a 23 foot boat to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity in memory of former Alloa Watch Manager John Noble.

John was tragically killed in the line of duty in 2008.

The Elliot family were waiting excitedly at Nelsons Dockyard in Antigua for the brothers to arrive.

They said: “It was amazing!  We have been waiting such a long time for this moment.

“Thank you to everyone for their well wishes from around the world from New Zealand to Shetland.”

The team have raised £45,000 so far for The Fire Fighters Charity.
