Peterhead firefighters raise festive funds for local care homes

Fantastic firefighters in Peterhead have rallied together to raise £1,200 for four local care homes.
Retained crews from the town’s Firefighters Charity held a Christmas fayre last month with stalls of local food and drink, and a Santa’s Grotto for the kids.
The money raised was presented to the care homes this week, which included Wyndwell Care Home, Allendale Care Home, Kirkburn Court Nursing Home, and Grangepark Care Home.
The festive fayre was the latest in a series of fundraisers organised by the dedicated firefighters, who regularly hold charity car washes and open days to raise money for the nationwide Firefighters Charity and other local causes.
“The firefighters like to give something back to the local community where they work and where the support of any fundraising activities in the area always generates a fantastic support from the local community,” explained Robbie Sturrock, SFRS watch manager at Peterhead.
“Firefighters are proud to assist whenever we can by putting something back into the community whether in the form of a donation, or just supporting them in their own fundraising events.”
