| CSFRS to host Extrication Challenge 2008 |
![]() Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service will host the next UKRO British Challenge from the 21st -23rd of August 2008.
The event will be held in the spectacular location of the University of Stirling . The campus-based University was founded by Royal Charter in 1967 on the historic Airthrey Estate, close to Bridge of Allan and two miles from Stirling. The 310-acre campus nesting beneath the Ochil hills has a magnificent loch and the 18th centaury Airthrey Castle at its heart. The main challenge arena will be situated below the Wallace Monument which will form the backdrop to the event and provide a stunning location. Accommodation for teams and visitors can be provided on site, with team accommodation grouped in units making an ideal location for preparation prior to the event. All the events including the opening and closing ceremonies' will be on the same site including the trauma and rope rescue challenges. The Stay Alive Road Show will also run during the eventOn site accommodation is available from £100 for 3 nights including buffet on Saturday .
