Firefighters dealt with an overturned bus in Cumbernauld

Fire crews worked with emergency service partners

Firefighters assisted 44 pupils this morning Thursday, 9 February after a single-decker bus overturned near to Our Lady’s High School in Cumbernauld.

Three fire appliances were immediately mobilised at 8.45am and firefighters assisted The Scottish Ambulance Service by administering first aid to a small number of children.

The crews thereafter ensured there were no other casualties on board the bus.

Firefighters also dampened down the vehicle following reports of smoke issuing from the engine.

Crews worked with emergency service partners and ensured the area was safe before leaving the scene at around 12.30pm.
