Dumbarton's Young Firefighters learn vital first aid skills

THREE Young Firefighters and their two instructors have learned vital emergency first aid skills at a training event in Aviemore. 

The event which is part of the "First Aid Ready, Are You" Youth Scotland scheme seen over 30 young people trained in the delivery of emergency first aid.

All five will now assist SFRS staff with the delivery of CPR and emergency first aid training.

Unit leader Allan Young said: "Our young firefighters have learned some vital life saving skills in Aviemore. 

"They will be able to pass on their experience and skills gained to other young people in the community, helping continue our units commitment to the Youth Scotland scheme"

Young Firefighters is a youth engagement programme aimed to teach 14-17 year olds transferable life skills.
